Fences & Hedges

The City of Willmar does not require fence permits nor inspects them, but does have some guidelines and height regulations as follows: 

1. Fences can be placed on the property line, but it is recommeneded to be placed a few feet off the line to allow proper maintenance of both sides. 
2. The finished side of the fence (not the structural supports side of the fence) shall face the street or abutting property. 
3. Fences shall be kept in good repair, painted, trimmed, and well maintained.
