Willmar's Waste Treatment Facility Offering Tours Through The Summer

As a part of Public Education, the Waste Treatment Facility is offering tours to the General Public of the Waste Treatment Plant every month this summer.

The Current Facility has been in operation at its location west of Willmar since October of 2010. This plant vastly reduces the amount of phosphorus, ammonia, bacteria, and particles entering Hawk Creek, a tributary of the Minnesota River.

We invite any groups to tour our plant especially if the following applies to you:
1. You are new to town.
2. You have an interest in how a Wastewater Treatment Facility works.
3. You are looking for an educational outing.
4. You have an interest in mechanical, biological, and chemical workings.
5. You’ve passed our facility on the way to the Brush Site and wondered what goes on there.
6. You enjoyed it so much last time and would like to see it again.

The remaining tours for the summer will begin at 10:00 AM on the following Tuesday mornings:
