Daylight Savings (Spring/Summer): Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Standard Time (Fall): Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Season:
The Brush Site season typically runs from April to November, weather-dependent. 

Closed Dates:
The Brush Site will be closed for Memorial Day, July 4th Independence Day, and Labor Day.

BRUSH SITE FAQ'S

Who can use the Brush Site?
The Brush Site is open for Willmar residents only.

What materials are accepted?
The compost facility will only accept leaves, grass clippings, and garden clippings. Residents should note that leaves, grass, and garden materials must be separated from brush and branches.

What materials are not accepted?
Absolutely no lumber or garbage of any kind is accepted. No boxes, plastic bags, or plastic of any type may be left at the site. No firewood may be removed.

Does the Brush Site offer Free Compost?
Finished, unscreened compost may be taken from the brush site when available. Mechanical loading is prohibited.   

I don't live in Willmar, is there anywhere else I can bring my yard waste?
The Kandiyohi County Landfill also accepts brush and leaves at no charge.

BRUSH SITE LOCATION

The City of Willmar Brush Site is located 3 miles west of Willmar. From the corner of County Road 5 and Trunk Highway 40 travel 3 miles to County Road 116 (75th Street SW), turn left, go 1 mile south, and then turn right. This Brush Site is 1/2 mile west of County Road 116 past the Willmar Trap Range and the Wastewater Treatment Facility.
